A&P Test
Since 1994, Bianca Machliss and Simon Borg-Olivier have been teaching Applied Anatomy & Physiology of Yoga to yoga teachers, practitioners and medical practitioners at workshops in Australia and around the globe. In 2010, the online course was launched, enabling many more students to access this incredible resource of information world-wide.
About the Courses
Yoga Synergy runs two inter-related Anatomy & Physiology courses that can be studied together or separately. You don't have to practice yoga to benefit. The information presented is relevent to everyone from those doing the simplest walking exercise to those practicing rigorous exercise at a professional level (sports, martial arts, dance). Both courses are explained simply and practically to allow you to fully understand and experience what your body is capable of.
Course 1: Basic Anatomy & Physiology (Live course only)
This course teaches the terms and concepts of anatomy and physiology which are important to understand in order to be able to make practical applications of anatomy and physiology to Hatha Yoga. The course involves the study of musculoskeletal anatomy, physiology of the body’s main systems, biomechanics, human movement and exercise physiology. This course assumes no previous knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Course 2: Practical Applied Anatomy & Physiology of Hatha Yoga (Live & Online)
Enhance your yoga practice, improve your yoga teaching - this is a must-do course for anyone interested in yoga!
The course provides yoga teachers and students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand the basic workings of the body while practicing asanas (static postures), vinyasas (dynamic exercises), and pranayamas (breathing exercises) of Hatha yoga. Learn how to safely increase strength and flexibility whilst minimising the risks of injury due to incorrect practice, and promote the healing of injuries with guidance on yoga therapy.
